A new 1.3 million SF prison complex replacing the existing Draper Prison and capable of housing 3,600 inmates initially with the potential for expansion. The new prison complex includes several facilities along with different inmate classifications. These include male maximum security and general population housing, female maximum security and general population housing along with facilities for sex offenders, substance abuse treatment and medical and mental health inpatient housing (for both male and female inmates). In addition there is a male/female reception and orientation facility along with other services such as an advanced preparation culinary kitchen, laundry, general medical, reception/administration, vocational, religious, educational, correctional industries, maintenance, security, recreation and a Board of Pardons facility.
