Originally constructed in 1966, Armstrong Hall was transformed into a beautiful new home for the College of Liberal Arts. The building is a two-story, concrete and steel structure with a partial basement. The transformation included a new academic advising and student services hub, a new café, meeting areas, administrative offices, classroom space, a large open study area, and an updated lecture hall with new audiovisual systems. The building had numerous deficiencies and systems that were beyond their useful life and required code and life-safety and ADA upgrades. The scope included re-roof, sewer main replacement, electrical distribution replacement, major structural repairs, elevator upgrade, fire alarm replacement, HVAC replacement, restroom upgrades, and structural modifications.
