The project included a build-out of the shelled first floor of an existing BSL-2 research building for the UCR School of Medicine. The first floor features research labs consisting of biomed and stem cell research (BSL-2), specialized lab support space, small vivarium including autoclave, faculty offices, conference rooms, and interaction spaces. The space supports seven new research faculty positions. The project required close coordination due to animal research being performed on the floors above to ensure no disruption to the research due to noise or vibration.
