Two projects totaling $45.6 million consisting of a new 31,000 SF science and media commons building and modernization of an existing 12,000 SF building to support career technology education (CTE) programs.

The new $34.9 million progressive design-build science and media commons building provides next-generation classrooms for chemistry, physics, earth science, biology and AP environmental science with ten new science classrooms, six teacher prep rooms, staff and student restrooms, as well as a Media Commons with various support spaces.

The $10.7 million design-build CTE building provides new spaces such as a new fire training bay, classroom and apparatus bay, broadcast studio, classroom and control room, fabrication lab and computer technology center. Work includes abatement, removal and replacement of the existing roof, exterior finish upgrades and upgrades to mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project also includes a storage bay for the program’s fire engine, ambulance and burn car and new exterior learning spaces for the broadcast studio, fire academy and fabrication lab, as well as an innovation gallery where the different pathways can work in a collaborative space. In addition, there are site improvements including a new parking lot, bus drop-off area and concrete pathways.
