A new $168 million, 800-bed maximum and medium security prison replacing the oldest prison west of the Mississippi River. The project sits on approximately 90 acres and consists of eight buildings totaling over 470,000 SF. Facilities include a new health services building, new administration building, new general population (three buildings housing maximum and medium offenders), new programming building and gym, new kitchen, new prison industries wood working manufactory and warehouse space, renovation to existing warehouse for coolers and dry goods, 576 fully furnished precast cells, hi-tech motion detection fence and geothermal heating and cooling throughout the campus. In addition to earning LEED Gold certification, the project was awarded Exemplary Justice Design by AIA Justice Facility Review.
